Dr. Velez Wins Arts & Sciences Award for Excellence in Research

Dr. Abraham Velez, Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy & Religion, is the 2014-15 recipient of the EKU College of Arts and Sciences' Excellence in Research and Creative Activities Award, in the area of Arts & Humanities. Annual awards are also given to faculty in the areas of social & behavioral sciences and natural & mathematical sciences. The award comes with a $1000 honorarium to be used in support of his teaching and research, as well as three hours of reassigned time for further research.

This marks the third consecutive year that a faculty member in the Department of Philosophy & Religion has earned this recognition from the CAS. Todd Gooch won the award for the 2013-14 school year, and Dr. Matthew Pianalto won for the 2012-13 year.
